What does Health Care Assistants (HCA) do?

Health Care Assistants, also known as nursing assistants, auxiliary nurses, or support workers, provide care to patients in hospitals or other medical settings. Assistants are under the direction of a qualified professional, and they work closely with patients to ensure their comfort and safety. Also, it has many other departments like: (Roaming Healthcare Assistant, Roaming Senior Healthcare Assistant, Senior Healthcare Assistant and Care Assistant)

What are the responsibilities of Health Care Assistant?

  • Observing, monitoring and recording patients’ conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight
  • Communication with patients, relatives and carers
  • Assisting with clinical duties
  • Personal care including infection prevention and control, food, personal hygiene and overall reassurance, comfort and safety
  • Promoting positive mental/physical/nutritional health with patients
  • Checking and ordering supplies
